Flower Girl Pomander

Picture
After hitting the 80% off sale at Michael's I bought some yellow flowers ($3.60 total for 4 bunches). I bought a 5 inch styrofoam ball at JoAnns for $2.69 ($4.49 with a 40% off coupon). I hot glued the flowers to the ball and used ribbon I already had and attached it with 2 straight pins and hot glue for extra stability. Plus I didn't use all the flowers so I have extras for decorations for the card box!

Total for project: $6.29

Bridal Party Jewelry

I couldn't find anything I just liked enough so I decided to make my bridesmaids matching bracelets. They don't have to wear them and they can wear whatever other jewelry they want, but I wanted us all to have something matching.
These are made with pearl beads from Hobby Lobby and the center is from a bracelet I bought at Forever 21 that I cut apart. My bracelet and the moms have small silver beads with rhinestones. Our flower girl will have a small bracelet made from the pearl beads.
Mine is on the far left, BM in center, moms on far right.

"I Do" Shoe Bling

Picture
So I thought about this for a little bit, but when I bought blue shoes, I wasn't sure if I still wanted to. But when I was wandering around JoAnn's this weekend armed with an awesome coupon, I gave in.
I followed instructions from a variety of places. I printed out the letters in a font I liked, then taped the printout on the bottom of my shoes. I used a pin to poke through the paper to "trace" the letter in the rubber sole of my shoe. Then using E6000 glue I placed the rhinestones along the traced line and left them the dry overnight.

Day of Hoodie

Picture
Another project I had thought about but didn't really have my heart set on until the rhinestone sale. I got the hoodie at Old Navy when they were having 30% off everything in the store, so it was only about $10. I know it's black, but I wreck everything white and I wanted to be able to wear it again after the wedding.
This one was hard to figure out because all the instructions I saw used hot fix rhinestones and I had regular ones and E6000 glue. So I freehanded the letters at the top as I went. With the numbers, I layed them all out then used scotch tape to pick up each number and glued the rhinestones all at once then used the tape to set it all back down again. It was WAY easier than placing each one individually again and much easier to smear the glue on everything that way.

Card Box

Picture
The card box is made of nesting boxes stacked together. I spray painted all the boxes and tops white. Once dry, I cut a hole in the top and bottom of the middle box, in the bottom of the top box, and in the top of the bottom box (so cards can fall through). I also cut a slit in the top and covered the edges with royal blue ribbon. The flowers are hot glued on (got these on clearance last fall). I am still debating on adding a little sparkle with some blue rhinestones, but I'm not sure yet.

Flower Girl Gift

Picture
Our flowergirl is the daughter of some of our friends, so she's very special to us outside of the wedding. I got this bag and decorated it with stuff I had at home. I used wonder under to iron the letters on to the bag and puff paint to outline the letters to make sure they don't fray. I bought crayons at Walmart for $0.19 (yay back to school) and am planning to buy coloring books and stickers to put in the bag as well.

Hair Flower

Picture
This may have been one of the easiest projects I've ever done. I followed the instructions found here (http://sew4home.com/projects/fabric-art-a-accents/541-organza-flower-tutorial). I bought 1/4 yard of white shimmery organza, a white satin backing fabric, and white shimmery tulle. The tulle just burned, not melted like the others so that was quickly eliminated. After all the layers were cut and melted, I sewed it all together with 3 pearl buttons. I still have to attach it to something to stick it in my hair, but I need to figure out the best thing to use for that.
